We started Chia with a simple idea: AI should feel fast, private, and intuitive. Today, we're building products that make that vision real, starting with how people search and discover information.
Why we exist
The internet gave us access to unlimited information, but finding what you need has become harder, not easier. Search engines show you ads and links. AI chatbots give you answers without context. We believe there's a better way,one that respects your privacy, understands what you're really asking, and gives you answers you can trust.
What we're building
We're starting with Toru, an AI-native search engine that understands natural language and gives you direct answers with sources. No ads. No tracking. Just fast, accurate search that works the way you think.
But Toru is just the beginning. Our long-term vision includes:
- Chia Cloud: AI-first infrastructure that makes it easy for developers to build intelligent applications.
- Chia OS: An operating system where AI is native to every interaction, not bolted on as an afterthought.
How we work
- Ship fast, iterate faster: We believe in getting products into users' hands quickly and improving based on real feedback.
- Small teams, big impact: Fewer meetings, more building. Clear ownership means faster decisions.
- Privacy by default: We don't sell your data. We don't track you for ads. Your information belongs to you.
- Quality over features: We'd rather build one thing exceptionally well than ten things poorly.
Where we're at
We just launched Toru MVP on December 2nd, 2025. It's early, rough around the edges, but it works, and people are already using it to search in ways that feel more natural than what they're used to.
We're a small team moving quickly. We're learning from every search query, every piece of feedback, and every conversation with our users. This is just the start.
What's next
We're heads down improving Toru based on early user feedback, adding voice search, file upload support, better conversation memory, and mobile apps. Beyond Toru, we're laying the groundwork for Chia Cloud and exploring what an AI-native OS could look like.
If our approach resonates with you, whether as a user, potential teammate, or partner, we'd love to hear from you.
