The Layer Approach: How We Build
January 15, 2026 • 5 min • Company
We build foundational infrastructure. We are building the operating system for action. A future where the gap between thought and reality disappears.
Why layers?
Most companies build products: a search engine, a chatbot, a cloud platform. We build layers: reusable infrastructure that other systems and products can be built on top of.
The world is full of disconnected systems. Intelligence is everywhere, but action is fragmented. We are building the layer that closes the gap. This is the universal execution layer that allows any intention, from a human, an AI agent, or a machine, to become an action. Safely. Securely. At scale.
There are two layers at the core of what we do:
- Information Access: A layer for finding, understanding, and synthesizing knowledge from any source. Toru is our implementation of this layer.
- Action Coordination: A protocol for describing, routing, and executing actions across any device, system, or environment.
By building layers instead of products, we create infrastructure that can be extended and built upon by others. This is the long-term approach that defines how we think. We are building toward a future where make doing as easy as thinking is not a slogan, it is a reality.
